allaboutphotocom Congratulations to Dev Kumar @devkumar.photography , Winner of AAP Magazine #60: Nature with the series 'Unspoken'

Eyes Beyond the Frame portrays a rhinoceros hornbill, a distinctive species native to the forests of Southeast Asia, photographed in Malaysia. Set against a deep black background, the bird is isolated in vivid colour, its striking casque, powerful bill and intensely focused eye commanding the frame. Its head is tilted upward, directing its gaze beyond the boundaries of the image and leaving the object of its attention unseen. The minimalist composition removes the surrounding environment, allowing the hornbill's remarkable form, colour and presence to take centre stage. The upward gaze introduces a sense of mystery and contemplation, inviting the viewer to wonder what lies beyond the frame.

Part of Unspoken, a collection of intimate wildlife portraits exploring the quiet language of expression, gesture, gaze and presence, the series seeks to reveal the individualality of animals through fleeting moments of observation.
